September’s Word of the Month is ALIGNMENT.
Sometimes nothing is necessarily wrong with your life. It might even look pretty good from the outside. But inside, something feels… off.
Maybe you feel disconnected. Drained. Unfulfilled.
Maybe you keep telling yourself, “I should be happy. I have so much to be grateful for.”
But what if the problem isn’t that you’re lost?
What if you’re simply living a life that no longer fits the person you’re becoming?
I learned this one the hard way.
Recently, I left my stable 9-5 because I wanted more time and freedom to build Inspired D’ayley and finish my degree. I thought I was moving toward the life I wanted.
Instead, I found myself working over 65 hours a week, spending another 10+ hours studying and preparing for a new job, and slowly realizing that something felt incredibly wrong.
I had become so focused on proving that I could do something that I stopped asking myself whether I actually wanted to.
And that realization changed everything.
Just because you CAN do something doesn’t mean it is RIGHT for you.
That’s where alignment comes in.
Alignment isn’t certainty.
Alignment is trust.
It’s being willing to pause and ask yourself:
Does this feel like me anymore?
Am I moving toward the person I’m becoming?
Am I staying because I want to be here, or because leaving would be uncomfortable?
What am I pretending not to know?
And sometimes, the answer is already there.
You just have to get quiet enough to hear it.
In this month’s full article, I’m sharing what my own experience with alignment has taught me, why alignment matters before balance, how fear can keep us on the wrong path, and why choosing yourself doesn’t always mean having the entire path figured out.
Maybe you’re not lost.
Maybe you’re just being asked to listen.
